KENOSHA, Wis. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams combined for four event wins and 25 All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin performances on Saturday, March 1, as they secured top-three finishes in the conference championships. The IWU men finished second overall with 118 points, while the women earned third place with 77 points. Freshman Nick Walker (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora) was named the CCIW Men's First-Year Field Student-Athlete of the Meet.

A Division III experience at Illinois Wesleyan University has granted Titan wrestler Jess Baer (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) identities beyond that of a traditional student-athlete. In addition to being a senior neuroscience major and the first-ever women’s wrestler at IWU, Baer is a three-year service member of the United States Army National Guard and works as a cardiovascular and intensive care unit technician at the local hospital near campus.

For senior forward Sasha Tylnyy (Wheeling, Ill.-Buffalo Grove) of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team, his college experience has been much bigger than simply playing soccer. A Division III student-athlete experience at Illinois Wesleyan has provided Tylnyy an opportunity to play soccer at the collegiate level, a career in his intended field, and insurmountable support from teammates.

2023 Cleo Tanner Award Winner: Bert (Klehm) Kinate - North Central College Athletics

Feb. 1, 2023 - North Central College alumna, Bert (Klehm) Kinate '67 has been named the 2023 Cleo Tanner Award honoree after her extensive involvement with women's athletics during her time at North Central. Kinate will be presented the award on Thursday at the College's National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration. The Cleo Tanner Award for Outstanding Contributions to North Central College women's athletics was first awarded in 2006 to recognize individuals who have positively influenced women's athletics at the College.
